= Post 260. =
the titile of this blog post is post 260.
actually, i dont know if i should count myself lucky or opposite, internet didnt get cut off after july 1st! and yes, i am blogging about this to kindda "celebrate" the extention of internet. The days of going home are coming nearer and nearer 13 days back home! I am excited!
did my chinese history paper today, i left a 1 15mark qsn out and 2 5 marks qsns not fully answered... but OK LAH, its really all about time management, I guess its better than what i thought from the previous tramatising experience at the first history test; my mind totally went blank back then. I was glad, this paper is a can do paper... the rest would echo: " of course! its an open book exam what! " well, you know what it feels to look at confident faces after the paper and they got every question done... hahaha yea, you probably could guess what i am trying to say.
anyway, 1 paper down which means, 1 last and final paper left. WRITING FOR CHINESE MEDIA... i am like... oh my tian, this is the only one i really am most clueless about... the way it is taught and the way it is being examed is very different! nevertheless, xianyujing... you must jiayou jiayou jiayou!
our room slept on average 4.30am today and we woke up for school at around 7.40am. I was glad that we had a heart to heart talk last night. all on our beds, you know this is only a lifetime once where you can have your buddies by your side and they happen to be your roomates and you guys chat will daybreak? ( alright, though its not kindda recommendable during exam period, but other times its ok right? especially when all of you are so busy during day time, catching up with each other would only be in the night time) =- >> suddenly i got reminded of Jenn, she told me this before.. alright many times though.. hahaha Jenn, i understand le! :D
i've come across people who really have alot of "close" friends( meaning close in physical distance) but in the matter of heart distance, they are millions and gazillions miles apart from one another. do you know why? this is because a heart too, has a door. unless you and your friend has a solid trust in between, and you have a strong sense of discernment then you could just remain quiet and silent all the time. otherwise, how would you expect your friend to know what you are going through and how you are feeling by avoiding? I often remind myself this few things, i too have a tendency to do so at times. dear friends, i really think that opening our hearts are so so imporantant be it in a friendship or any relationship with your parents, or partners.
to add on, this china trip is truly not only a trip that makes me realise who i really am, but who my friends really are too. and i am glad, our friendship is TESTED, MOULDED and TREASURED. hehe :))
i just read from chris3's blog.. he blogged about something both of us are very familar with:
" No one knows how much you know, until they know how much you care "
one thing i thought about..
" Never settle something great for something lesser. "
In 1962, four nervous young musicians played their first record audition for the executives of the Decca recording Company. The executives were not impressed. While turning down this group of musicians, one executive said,"We don't like their sound. Groups of guitars are on the way out." The group was called The BEATLES.
In 1944, Emmeline Snively, director of the Blue Book Modelling Agency, told modelling hopeful Norma Jean Baker, "You'd better learn secretarial work or else get married." She went on and became MARILYN MONROE.
In 1954, Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, Fired a singer after one performance. He told him, "You ain't goin' nowhere....son. You ought to go back to drivin' a truck." He went on to become the most popular singer in America named ELVIS PRESLEY.
When ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL invented the telephone in 1876, it did not ring off the hook with calls from potential backers. After making a demonstration call, President Rutherford Hayes said, "That's an amazing invention, but who would ever want to use one of them?"
When THOMAS EDISON invented the light bulb, he tried over 2000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He said, "I never failed once. I invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2000-step process."
In the 1940s, another you ng inventor named CHESTER CARLSON took his idea to 20 corporations, including some of the biggest in the country. They all turned him down.In 1947 - after seven long years of rejections! He finally got a tiny company in Rochester, New York, the Haloid company, to purchase the rights to his invention an electrostatic paper-copying process. Haloid became Xerox Corporation we know today.
WILMA RUDOLPH was the 20th of 22 children. She was born prematurely and her survival was doubtful. When she was 4 years old, she contacted double pneumonia and scarlet fever, which left her with a paralysed left leg.At age 9, she removed the metal leg brace she had been dependent on and began to walk without it. By 13 she had developed rythmic walk, which doctors said was a miracle. That same year she decided to become a runner. She entered a race and came in last. For the next few years every race she entered, she came in last. Everyone told her to quit, but she kept on running. One day she actually won a race. And then another. From then on she won every race she entered. Eventually this little girl, who was told she would never walk again, went on to win three Olympic gold medals.
The Moral of the above Stories : Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved.
You gain strength, experience and confidence by every experience where you really stop to look fear in the face.... You must do the thing you cannot do. And remember, the finest steel gets sent through the hottest furnace.
A winner is not one who never fails, but one who NEVER QUITS!
something off from the motivational examples i kope from Chris3's blog...
and truly i am sure the ones that truly love you will never forsake you or leave you no matter what happens'; even if you let go of your hands, they will still hold on.
Because they love you.
你还忍得下心来伤害真正爱你的人吗? please, i beg your pardon. dont.
